Ages 8-12
Discover the art of working with clay in this hands-on semester class! Students will learn both handbuilding and pottery wheel techniques as they create unique ceramic projects from start to finish. Along the way, they'll practice essential skills such as forming, sculpting, trimming, decorating, and glazing while gaining confidence with each new project.
Our curriculum is designed to help young artists build real ceramic skills through guided instruction and plenty of hands-on practice. With each class, students will develop their creativity while learning techniques they can continue to build on throughout future clay classes.
All clay, tools, glazes, and kiln firings are included. Finished pieces will be fired in our kiln and ready to take home throughout the semester.
Students Will:
- Learn both handbuilding and pottery wheel techniques
- Create multiple clay projects throughout the semester
- Practice sculpting, trimming, decorating, and glazing
- Build confidence using real ceramic tools and equipment
- Learn from a dedicated clay instructor in a small class setting
- Take home kiln-fired pottery created by their own hands
- All clay, tools, glazes, and kiln firings included
