Beginner Friendly | No Experience Needed
Have you always wanted to try the pottery wheel? This beginner-friendly class is the perfect introduction to throwing clay on a pottery wheel. Our instructor will guide you step by step through the process of centering clay, opening it, and shaping it into a bowl. Along the way, you'll learn the basic techniques used by potters while enjoying a fun and relaxed creative experience. It's always messy but that's part of the fun.
Classes are intentionally kept small so everyone can get individual guidance. The class fee includes 1½ hours of hands-on instruction, clay, glazes, kiln firing, and one finished bowl. Additional finished pieces may be available for purchase if you create more than one.
After class, your bowl will remain at the studio to dry slowly before being kiln-fired, dipped in your choice of glaze color by our staff, and fired a second time. Finished pieces are typically ready for pickup about three weeks after class.
What to Wear:
Please wear clothes that can get a little messy, tie back long hair, and keep fingernails trimmed short for the best experience on the pottery wheel.
